Adult Education

TRZ Adult Education is starting a Book club. It will be held on the 4th Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm. Our first meeting will be January 26th. The group will be led by Leslie Chudnoff, Northridge Branch Librarian. For more information, please call Ruth Reznik at 818-360-2519.

Whether it be special screenings of films relevant to Jewish and Israeli history and current events, excursions to culturally relevant exhibits like the viewing of the Dead Sea Scrolls, or participating as a group in the Jewish World Watch Walk to End Genocide, TRZ offers a number of avenues to bring together the community and enhance our understanding of Judaism and the world around us.

Throughout the year, TRZ hosts a variety of renowned guest speakers, ranging from our local Congressman’s town hall, to guest Rabbis offering new perspectives on Judaism, TRZ often looks outside of our Temple walls to provide its members with interesting and unique ways of viewing our heritage.

The Temple Ramat Zion library is available for those wish to expand their knowledge of Judaism. We encourage everyone in our community to visit and peruse or check out books. We invite you to take the opportunity to meet our librarian, Jennifer Altberg.

Temple Ramat Zion also offers members who may have missed out on a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, or did not get to participate in all aspects of the service, the opportunity to experience this important ritual and reaffirm their faith. This year-long program trains people to read the Torah and Haftarah, chant various prayers, and deliver a sermon. Participants celebrate their B’nai Mitzvah in a joint ceremony in June, with each person participating in every part of the service.
